Getting the Barrel Rolling!

Stirring up the IPA kit

Stirring up the IPA kit

It's been a while since my last post! Over the Christmas break, I've been working away on various tasks, setting up some various social media profiles, doing up some draft ideas for a website re-vamp (even though its only a month or so old) and of course actually brewing some beer!!

I currently have two batches of approximately 40 pints each fermenting away. Both made from the beer kit brewing process I went through in my last post. The first batch was a lager kit, as it was my first ever brew, there was the odd hiccup but overall it went well. Hoping once it's ready to drink it turn's out to be a decent beer. Second batch was an IPA (India/Imperial Pale Ale) which went far more smoothly so I'm predicting that to be of a better standard once it's finished. Another week and I'll be bottling both brews, if I can get my hands on some more empty bottles that is!

Already dying to start another brew even though I haven't finished the first two. My next move, which I think will keep me focused on the goal at hand is to get more involved in the local home brewing community. There really is a lot going on out there that I feel I'm missing out on and by getting involved I'll learn a lot more!
